Atlassian, an Australian based software company that makes collaboration software for programmers plans on opening an Austin office soon that will house up to 300 employees. They plan on leasing office space in downtown Austin to join other high tech startups seeking a cool, trendy work environment.
They picked Austin out of a few other cities because of its laid back, not so serious, & fun appeal. Worldwide Atlassian has over 800 employees. By June they expect to have 40 new hires for the Austin office.
Two students from Sydney founded the company in 2002. Since then they have grown to over $149M in revenue and have 34,000 customers in 134 countries.
