Fantasy Football Costs Employers $6.5 Billion in Lost Productivity [infographic]

Office space games and social media such as Facebook and Twitter have been blamed for years for the reason in lost employee productivity at the office.  While there are a lot of office space games that are played, one in particular that probably hasn’t been considered is Fantasy Football.  Check out the statistics below.

  • The average fantasy football player spends over 4 hours per week on fantasy football.  8% or more spend 10 hours per week.
  • 22.3 Million workers spend a minimum of 1 hour per week on fantasy football while at work.
  • The average hourly wage is $19.33 per hour according to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • $430.9 Million worth of productivity is lost per week, which equates to $6.5 Billion annually.
