Gondolas in Austin the Solution to Our Traffic Woes?

Just like every other downtown city Austin transportation has always been challenging with traffic congestion, etc. Are gondolas in Austin the answer to our traffic woes? Frog Design recently presented a solution at a California conference that proposes building a cable car system (gondolas) that would transport Austinites across the city.  Not only would the creating of Austin gondolas be over $20 million cheaper than surface rails and over $380 million cheaper than a subway, it would also circumvent many of the right-of-way problems and the cable cars could travel over natural barriers (.e.g. Barton Creek, Lady Bird Lake) without any problems.   Check out the video below.
