How Austin restaurants fared: Inspection scores for April-May

On the monthly inspection done on restaurants of Travis County and Austin on the period of April to May, seven restaurants received a failing score. Below are some pointers that should be considered:

  1. Not every restaurant in the given area is inspected on a monthly basis. All inspections are done at random and unannounced. Follow-up inspections should be expected on restaurants that have received a failing mark.
  2. Health inspections are not just for restaurants. Kitchen areas of schools, churches and social clubs are also included.
  3. A failing score is below 70% based on company standards and deviations.
