Austin-based startup Mozido is expanding its office operations in Austin, which recently included moving its Dallas-based technical staff here. The 6-year-old company wants to become a top provider of mobile payments services for consumers that don’t have established banking relationships in the United States.
Mozido currently employs 45 people in Austin, and that number is slated to grow as the company expands over the year. Company officals say that they would like to have around 150 workers based in Austin.
According to Mike Love, the company’s chieft technology officer, Austin was chosen as a base of technical operations because the local talent pool is familiar with cloud computing and mobile payments.
