There are two new projects planned for this area, a 78,000-square-foot office building at Hether Street and a 32,000-square-foot office building at Bluebonnet Lane. Neither project is likely to be fully occupied before construction is completed in 2018; both are located near the center of Austin.

Families seeking a quiet neighborhood are well served in South Lamar. It is close to downtown Austin and has access to natural greenspaces such as Barton Creek and Zilker Park. This community is home to some single-family homes and is quite desirable. While housing in SouthLamar is more affordable than downtown Austin, it is still far from a great neighborhood for families. Whether you’re looking for a single-family home or an apartment complex, SouthLamar has something to offer.
