In most cases I would not recommend that business owners or companies represent themselves against landlords and listing agents when leasing commercial office or retail space. Those professionals do it everyday which means they have a leg up on you when it comes to lease transaction & negotiation experience, and market knowledge.
HOWEVER……….. if you insist on representing yourself at lease consider hiring a commercial lease coach or consultant to guide you throughout the entire process. The money you spend on a lease coach YOU WILL double or triple in return as well as save a ton of time in the process.
A good commercial lease coach will level the playing field since you will have at your exposure the same market knowledge, tools, and resources that the landlords and listing agents have. This means that you will not be at a disadvantage when it comes time to negotiate. You will be able to ask all the right questions and confidently respond & negotiate in a way that will let the landlords and listing agents know that you know what you are doing and mean business.
